In this article, you will learn how to easily view your energy consumption by building. This widget is best suited for comparing consumption between buildings, although it can be configured to analyze consumption from a single building over time.
Widget Setup
On the dashboard where you want to add a new Energy Consumption by Building widget, click Add Widget and select Energy Consumption by Building in the pop-up.
In the Select Buildings step, you will select the Organization, Portfolio and Building you want to monitor.
Note: You will only be able to select buildings that have the KPIs feature turned on and the appropriate data integrated. Meter data is required for the Energy Consumption by Building widget.
Once you have selected your buildings, move onto the next step to select the energy type, time range, and interval.
You now have the option to setup a comparison to previous month, year or portfolio average.
You can also normalize by area (in square footage) or by degree days to eliminate any skews in your data set.
Adjust the title as needed to reflect the details you've built into your widget. Select "Show settings as subtitle" to display the building names on the widget.
After you select Finish, the widget will appear on your dashboard.
Widget Usage & Best Practices
On your Energy Consumption by Building widget, hover over the chart to view the values. The vertical dotted line will help you situate the date more easily.
If you have selected the comparison option, you can toggle between the actual data and the delta to see the differences immediately.
