Many recycling plants require that you separate out different materials to ensure that as much of the device can be recycled as possible. Please follow the below steps to ensure that your device as possible can be recycled:

Airthings devices are disposed of and recycled according to the Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive. The below guidance sets out the recommended steps that should be taken when recycling your Airthings devices.

Step 1

Remove the battery lid and/or backing cover

This can be recycled as "regular plastic".

Step 2

If your device has a plastic table stand, please remove this. This can also be recycled as "regular plastic".

Step 3

Remove the batteries from your device. Batteries should be recycled as "electrical waste" although many recycling stations have separate bins for recycling batteries.

Step 4

Any remaining parts of your sensor (which should be the main body of the sensor and the electrical board inside) will now need to be recycled as "electrical waste".

Many recycling centres have a separate bin for electrical products.
