Sensor cannot be placed exactly where indicated on the floor plan

  • Sensors should be placed as close as possible to the location indicated to ensure no ‘heads' are missed, or double counted, ideally within 50cm of the original location

  • If impossible, choose a location which is closer to other sensors in the same room so the sensor areas overlap rather than miss coverage.

  • Use a hanging rod to mount a sensor in rooms with no suspended ceiling (where there are obstructions / ceilings are over 3.2m)

Sensor is on (flashing blue LED) but not connecting to a Hive

  • Check that the Hive is within range. If borderline, check to see if the sensor will connect if range is reduced. If so - see if the hive can be relocated closer to the sensors without compromising connection to other sensors.

  • If not, spare sensors can be configured as ‘boosters'. This means they span the gap between the Hive and a sensor, and create a ‘bridge’ to amplify signal. Your deployment specialist can support you to configure a sensor as a booster.

FAQ

Can i change what hive a sensor connects to?

  • Currently, only Butlr can achieve this. Contact your nominated deployment specialist who can escalate the requirements to Butlr for them to action.
