Brief Overview of Installation Steps
Installation Preparation
Pre-requisites
The floorplans used to scope the Butlr install with hive networks and Heatic Sensors clearly numbered and defined
A list of the hives and sensors to install, from the scoping exercise
The following hardware, with quantities as outlined in the sensor list / on the floorplan. These will typically arrive in multiple packages
4G Modems
A number of 4G sim cards corresponding to the number of 4G modems
[For most installations] Google WiFi systems (at least one for every 3 Hives)
Butlr Hives - numbered to correspond with the floorplan
Butlr Heatic sensors - numbered to correspond to a hive network
Any accessories required for abnormal installation (including mounting poles)
A packing list to confirm included hardware in the Butlr branded packages
If you are missing any of the above pre-requisites, you will not be able to complete the installation as scoped. Contact your nominated deployment specialist who will be able to resolve.
Setting up cellular network
Butlr Hives (hubs) do not create their own cellular network. They require a separate 4G modem and wifi system to create a cellular network that the Hives connect to.
This process is detailed here.
Installing Hives
Hives are the Butlr ‘hubs’ that pass data from the Heatic sensors to the LAN.
This process is detailed here.
Install Heatic sensors
‘Heatic sensors’ are the only Butlr sensors we implement. These can be switched into different ‘modes’, and will have a pre-defined mode (indicated on the back of the sensors) corresponding to the mode indicated on the floorplan / scoping document.
For all modes, the installation process is detailed here.
