Overview
Command Center is a new prioritized home page in Noda Energy. It’s a single destination that answers two questions for any user: "What should I do today?" and "How is my team doing?" It automatically scopes to whatever portfolio or building the user is viewing, and surfaces a ranked worklist of Projects and Tasks that need action alongside portfolio or building health metrics.
What you get
One clear view of what matters most. Tasks, Projects, and comment threads come together in a single place, so the most urgent work is visible at a glance.
Easy side-by-side comparisons. Building and portfolio performance are shown together, so trends and standouts are quick to spot.
Worklists you can act on with confidence. Every worklist is automatically ranked by real business priority, so teams always know where to focus next.
How it works
A single home base. Home is now the default landing page for every user after login. It brings together the best of the dashboard and the Building Overview page. Users with access to one building go straight to that building's Home.
Smart, automatic prioritization. Worklist items are ranked by Priority, then Impact, then Age, so teams can skip manual triage and start on the work that matters most.
Who it's for
Chief Building Engineer / Portfolio Manager
Needs a fast, trustworthy read on how an entire portfolio is performing and where attention is needed most, without digging through individual buildings.
Building Engineer
Owns day-to-day performance at one or more buildings and needs a clear, ranked list of what to work on and verify.
Technician
Executes tasks in the field and needs to know, at a glance, what's assigned, what's next, and what's already done.
Feature breakdown
1. Home landing experience
Users land directly on Home at whatever scope matches their access level.
A user with access to only one building lands on that building's Home page.
Clicking into a specific building from the portfolio view opens that building's Home, replacing the old Building Overview page.
Data automatically scopes: the portfolio view aggregates across all buildings, and the building view shows only that building.
2. Portfolio performance banner
A banner at the top of the page shows five metrics, each with a tooltip explaining what it measures:
Realized Savings
GHG Emissions Reduced
Energy Saved
Projects Completed
Tasks Completed
3. Prioritized worklist
Categories appear in a fixed order: Projects to Accept, Projects to be Verified, Tasks to Start, Tasks to Complete.
Projects to Accept is visually highlighted as a high-value action.
Each category shows up to 5 items by default, with a "show 5 more" option to expand.
For a given project, the worklist shows at most one next task per relevant category, with a "+ number" indicator for additional waiting tasks.
Accepting a project moves it out of Projects to Accept and surfaces its next task under Tasks to Complete.
Clearing a category to zero triggers a small celebratory moment in the UI.
4. Mark Done flow
When every task on a project is Done or Cancelled, the project appears in Projects to be Verified with an "All tasks complete" badge and a Mark Done action.
Clicking Mark Done still prompts the user to fill in required close-out fields, such as the fixed date, before the project is marked Completed.
5. My View and Team View
My View shows only work assigned to the current user.
Team View shows all work across the building or portfolio the user is associated with. Items not owned by the current user show a "Nudge" action instead of Accept, Complete, or Review, which opens a pre-staged comment thread.
Use cases
Chief Building Engineer / Portfolio Manager
Monday morning portfolio check-in. Open Command Center at the portfolio level, scan the performance banner for savings and completion trends across every building, then jump straight into whichever building shows the most Projects to Accept.
Reporting impact to leadership. Use Realized Savings, GHG Emissions Reduced, and Energy Saved figures directly from the banner instead of assembling numbers manually from separate reports.
Team accountability. Switch to Team View to see everything open across the portfolio, and use Nudge to follow up on items owned by other team members without leaving the page.
Building Engineer
Regular triage. Start each session on Building Home, work top to bottom through Projects to Accept and Tasks to Start, and trust that the order reflects real priority instead of re-checking multiple pages.
Closing the loop on finished work. When a project's tasks are all done, find it pre-surfaced in Projects to be Verified and use Mark Done to formally close it out.
Spotting stale work. Use the Active/Inactive signal to catch items that look open but haven't moved, even though they aren't part of the sort order.
Technician
Field prioritization. Check My View to see only assigned tasks, ranked automatically, without needing to understand the underlying project structure.
Fast completion. Mark tasks Done directly from the worklist as work is finished in the field.
Working from a shared queue. Where assignees are unclear (Unassigned or Unknown User), any technician can still use Mark Done on the task, so nothing stalls waiting on an assignment.
