Noda Assistant is an AI building assistant built into your building pages. Ask a question in plain language about a piece of equipment, an insight, a project, or your building's performance, and it searches your building's data to give you an answer in seconds.
It can pull up data, build charts, and help you investigate an issue by working through questions with you.
Who it's for
Building Engineers: get answers about equipment, insights, and performance without leaving what you're doing, and use it to investigate issues.
Energy and Operations Managers: surface data that's buried in the platform with a plain-language question instead of building a report.
Anyone triaging a complaint: describe the problem as it was reported, and the Assistant finds the equipment, checks for related insights, and pulls recent history.
Getting Started & How to Use
1. Open the Assistant
Go to any building page and click the chat icon in the bottom right of the page. It opens as a side panel that stays with you as you navigate that building. Click into an air handling unit, a project, or a task, and the Assistant's context updates to match.
The Assistant is available on building pages only. It's not available on dashboards or the home page. Your session pauses there but isn't lost. Going into Settings ends the session.
2. Ask a question
Type your question directly, for example, "why is the return air temperature high on AHU-1" or "what's the cooling capacity of our chillers." Suggested prompts also appear based on where you are in the app.
3. Triage a complaint
Type in the complaint as it was described to you. The Assistant finds the relevant equipment, checks for open insights, and reviews recent history, typically the last 7 days unless you specify otherwise.
4. Create and refine charts
Ask the Assistant to chart something, for example, "chart plant thermal efficiency for the last 7 days," and it generates a chart link. If it built the chart, you can keep refining it in the same conversation, for example, "add each chiller's efficiency to that."
5. Look up equipment details without losing your place
Ask for an attribute, like a chiller's rated tonnage, while mid-investigation. The Assistant retrieves it inline so you don't have to leave your chart or conversation.
6. Start a new chat when you switch topics
If your next question isn't related to what you were just discussing, clear the chat. The Assistant warns you before it clears anything.
