Dashboard sharing

Sharing dashboards allows customers to accomplish three they previously could not.

  1. Share a copy of a dashboard with someone that they can then use as their own (Fire and Forget). For example you make have a building management template that you share with new building mangers that they then own and remodel over time.

  2. Share a read only copy of a dashboard, so that many people can read the same report in the same way and have the content controlled from a central point. For example each building having an energy consumption report visible in the lobby of that building.

  3. Receive a shared dashboard and incorporate its content into their daily Noda flow.

How to share a dashboard

On the dashboard menu, over over the dashboard you'd like to share and click the 3-dot menu, select Share.

Select the type of share - copy or read-only - then click next.

Decide who to share with from the screen that appears. You can share with multiple users at a time.

NOTE: Dashboard sharing respects the user rights setup within your company account. Because of Noda's multiple layers of access control and permissions, the content on your dashboard may not be visible to every user in your company. If you try to send the dashboard to someone who does not have access to the same data for every widget on your dashboard, you will not be able to select that user from the share list and you cannot share this particular dashboard with them. You can either adjust their rights or remove the restricted widget content from your dashboard and try again.

For shared copies, the recipient can now edit the dashboard as they wish. Copies will appear on recipient dashboard menus like any other dashboard. For read-only, the dashboard will be locked to the recipient and will contain a lock icon on the recipient's menu.

Shared dashboard details

When you share a dashboard, a new icon will appear next to its name in your dashboard menu.

To determine who you have shared the dashboard with, return to the 3-dot menu and open the Share option.

If you wish to unshare this dashboard, select the "x". If you wish to share the dashboard with more people, select the top "Share" option.

If a person you have shared the dashboard to deletes their copy, their name will disappear from your "Shared With" list.

If you are the owner of a Copied dashboard and change anything about the widget, that will be reflected in all shared versions of that dashboard upon those users's refresh of their page. Any dashboards changes that are made to Read Only shares will not be updated for the shared users.
