Aquicore’s operations team works hard at finding the most efficient, and least invasive ways to collect data from the meters and stream it to Aquicore’s Platform.

There are three major components that create this wireless sensor network

Data Collection Devices: AQ Bridges, AQ Hubs, AQ Edges, and Obvius Modhoppers are the primary modes of data collection that Aquicore deploys in your building. The Series 3 devices (AQ Bridge, Hub, and Edge) create a mesh network where data can flow into the main compiling device. The Obvius Modhoppers also create a mesh network between themselves. These devices do not use up any Wifi connection, and will not slow down the existing internet at your building. Please note that Obvius equipment and Series 3 equipment cannot communicate to each other.

Data Compiling Devices: The AQ Hub and the Obvius Acquisuite/Acquilite are the devices at the center of the mesh networks. The AQ Hub and Obvius devices take in data from all of the networking devices in the network, and can also collect data directly via pulse or Modbus.

Cellular Connection: A Cradlepoint modem is used to connect your building to the Aquicore Platform. The modem plugs directly into the Data Compiling Devices via a USB to Ethernet connection, and then sends your building's data from every Data Collection Device to the Platform, where diagnostics and all of Aquicore's best-in-class features are run.
