Purpose of Kiosk Mode
To prevent passers-by from changing what is displayed on the tablet screen you need to prevent screen touches and disable the exiting of the stoplight widget's web browser. Below you will find information on how to achieve this for both Google Android and Apple iPad tablets.

There is no built-in feature on Android for achieving Kiosk mode but a third-party app called
Fully Kiosk Browser & App Lockdown
can be used to achieve thisInstall the app here and purchase a license
Get the Stoplight Widgets URL
Open the
Infogrid
platform
in the Chrome web browserSelect the
Stoplight widget
you want to display on the Android tabletHover over the
Settings
icon and selectFull Screen Mode
Copy this
URL
as you will need to enter it in the Kiosk App
Setup the Full Kiosk Browser App
Open the Fully Kiosk Browser App
Paste
the URL of the Stoplight widget into theStart URL
sectionEnable:
Fullscreen Mode
Disable:
Show Action Bar
andShow Address Bar
Press the blue button:
Start Using Fully
Swipe left
to open the menu and selectSettings
Go to Web Browsing Settings:
Enable:
Load Start URL on Home Button
Disable:
Enable Back Button
Go to Web Zooming and Scaling
Disable:
Enable Zoom
Go to Advanced Web Settings
Enable:
Keep Screen On while in Fullscreen Mode
Disable:
Enable Keyboard

Make sure only
Show Progress Bar
is enabled
Go to Device Management
Make sure only
Keep Screen On

Go to Kiosk Mode
Enable:

,Disable Incoming Calls
,Disable Outgoing Calls
,Disable Screenshots
andLock Safe Mode
Leave all other items in their default state.
Setup an Exit Pin:
Select
Kiosk Exit Gesture
: Change toFast 5 Taps Anywhere
Select
Kiosk Mode Pin
: Enter aPin Number
This step will let you exit Kiosk Mode
Setup App Whitelist:

ChooseGoogle Chrome
Go to Other Settings
Enable:
Restart Fully After Crash
,Restart Fully After Update
Disable:
Enable Version Info

Enable Permissions
After you change the settings above you will be prompted to grant extra permissions to the Kiosk App, press
Ok
Then press
Allow
/Enable
on all of the following few screens, you are prompted with
Change Home App
When prompted change your Android Home app to
Fully Kiosk Browser
and set it toAlways
Exiting Kiosk Mode
To exit Kiosk Mode you will have to
tap the screen anywhere 5 times
and then enter thepasscode
you created as mentioned in the step above
Apple iPad
Set the Screen to Not Turn Off
Go to
Settings > Display & Brightness
and then selectNever
Rotate to Widescreen
Before you set to Guided Access Mode below please rotate your device to widescreen mode so the stoplight widgets load up in landscape view
Turn on Guided Access Mode
Use the built-in guided access mode features provided by Apple

Go to
Settings > Accessibility,
then turn onGuided Access
Enter a
passcode
(this will be used to exit guided access mode)You can also use
Face ID
orTouch ID
Open the
Infogrid
platform
in the Chrome web browserSelect the
Stoplight widget
you want to display on the iPad tabletHover over the
settings cog
icon and selectFull Screen Mode
The browser will now load this widget in full screen
Start
guided access mode,
by either triple tapping the home or slide button depending on the model of iPad you have
βTurn off all features including
Touch
,Sleep/Wake Button
,Volume Buttons
,Motion
,Keyboards
,Dictionary Lookup
andTime Limit
as you don't want users being able to exit the app and you don't want the device to sleep
βNow the device will not respond to screen touches unless you exit Guided Access mode via the triple tap method and enter your passcode
