Onboarding Attributes
Bulk loading attributes can be found in the Building properties page and works in a similar manner to system or connector uploads: you can bulk upload both building and equipment attributes, there are upload templates but behaviors are slightly different and will be dealt with separately below.
Please note you can only bulk upload Standard Attributes (not Custom Attributes).
Using Bulk Upload
Uploading building attributes
Click on the attributes upload button to start the process, you can download a copy of the upload spreadsheet from there.
Open the spreadsheet and go to the Building Standard Attributes tab where you can see an example.
The list of standard attributes is found on the OAP under the Sites navigation folder, within each building type available.
Copy the name into the attribute column, the value that you want into the value column. Check back to the OAP to determine if the attribute you have selected has a unit.
Repeat this for all of the attributes you want to store.
Once you have done that go back to Noda Connect and upload the file.
If you are doing the data for the first time or adding new fields select the "set" option, if you are replacing existing values select the replace option.
NOTE: Any field with existing data will be overwritten by this process so only include data in the fields you want to change.
NOTE 2: You cannot delete attributes on a building using the bulk upload tool. To delete an attribute, use the Property Configuration user interface.
Uploading equipment attributes
Click on the attributes upload button to start the process, you can download a copy of the upload spreadsheet from there.
Open the spreadsheet and go to the Equipment Standard Attributes tab where you can see an example.
Equipment attributes are also located on the OAP, within equipment listings.
Unlike attributes for sites which may or may not have units, attributes for equipment will always have units. Find those by scrolling until you get to the Units section.
Copy the name of the attribute you want into the top of a column, in the example above modelNumber is in the 3rd column, to add an attribute with a specific unit you have to do a 2 step approach finding the attribute name and the unit name then building a single column separator using the | symbol to combine them. From the example above we have the attribute ratedVoltage with a unit of kilovolt.
Using Set
Next type in the equipment that you want to apply this data to, you only need to fill in the columns that apply to the equipment in the row, blank columns will be ignored and add their corresponding data.
Using Replace
Replace is used to change the data in a specific attribute for the equipment in the row and will change the attribute to the new value on the spreadsheet. It is also used to delete the attribute data by submitting a blank column entry for that piece of equipment.
NOTE: Be very careful when using replace - it will remove any attribute that has a blank entry.
In the example below, the user is trying to change all the data in for VAVs and some of the data for the DOAS in the same sheet. The VAVs will change correctly however the DOAS manufacturer and model number will be deleted. Use two uploads and not one for situations like this.
Using Connect Property Config UI
Adding attributes to buildings
Navigate to the building to which you wish to add attributes and select the Attributes tab
2. Click Add Attribute - you will be able to add both Standard and Custom Attributes from this button.
3. In the pop-up window, type the name of the Standard Attribute and the options will auto-fill, or click into the row for the full unfiltered list of Standard Attributes
4. For Custom Attributes, use the same pop-up window and simply type the full name of the Custom Attribute you would like to define. The system will notify you that this is not a standard attribute and as a result, a custom one will be created by clicking submit.
Adding attributes to equipment
An attribute can be added to a building as soon as the building is created. To add attributes to equipment, the equipment must first be loaded.
Once equipment is loaded, click into any equipment to review and add attributes in the Attributes tab. From the Add Attribute button, the process for defining and submitting Standard and Custom attributes is the same as noted above for buildings, though the list of standard attributes will pull from the Equipment Attributes OAP list rather than the Buildings Attributes list.
Editing and Deleting attributes
Once an attribute is set, whether Custom or Standard, it will be listed in the Attributes tab with the Attribute label and the name you've given. When you hover over the attribute, a pencil and a trash bin will appear.
When the pencil appears, it is possible to edit the name of the attribute. For attributes with an associated unit (Gross Area, for example), there are two fields to edit, both the value and the unit.
Hover over each individually to make the required edits. Remember to select the blue check mark to commit the change.
To delete, simply click the trash bin icon and it will remove the attribute.
Viewing equipment properties
Once added to the Equipment Properties page attributes will appear on the equipment Slideout.
If you add a URL to a custom attribute Noda will automatically display that as a custom link.
